Amazon, Toronto (2017.07 - present) Software Development Engineer II

• Led several Ads Attribution projects: building a new Conversion Ingestion system (Spark app), adding a new dimension in Attribution systems for Amazon Fresh program.
• Led Transportation Options project to improve FBA seller’s shipping experience.
• Built a rule interpreter for shipping services, so we can easily change the rules data and share them between front-end and back-end.
• Proposed and implemented an idea to optimize our DynamoDB design, which reduced the number of DDB tables from 6 to 1 and simplifed access patterns.
• Built AthenaCLI to simplify the procedure of running Athena ad-hoc queries.
• Hepled migrate FBA Oracle database to AWS DynamoDB. The switch to managed service reduced database admin overhead by 70%.

Douban, Beijing (2013.07 - 2016.11) Senior System Engineer

• Designed and implemented a time series database: Kenshin (and also presented it in QCon Beijing 2016), which reduced the IOPS by 97.5% with a little increase in query latency.
• Core contributor to a distributed KV system: GoBeansDB and GoBeansProxy, reduced the memory usage by 46% and maintaince overhead by 50%.
• Core contributor to a BigData processing framework DPark and the computing cluster.
• Implemented an ETL pipeline and a mobile app analytical platform from scratch.

• AthenaCLI: a CLI tool for AWS Athena service that can do auto-completion and syntax highlighting.
